John Fray, October 10, 2024:

Here is a gentle ghost story of mine from the 1990s. It is not for certain that a ghost was involved, rather, this is just a gentle story of a few transient details and sensations which could have been absolutely nothing.

My brother was looking around for a house to buy. One was listed not far from Ellwood. He, his wife and I got in his car and rode to the house for a tour. I do not remember exactly when the real estate agent arrived to join us, but it was after we arrived. At first, we stood in the sun porch. After we had waited a bit, my sister-in-law tried the inner door, but found it to be locked. After a short while, I tried the door and found it to be unlocked. We entered the main part of the house and browsed around a bit before the real estate agent arrived. I had a peaceful, comfortable feeling moving about the house. My sister-in-law said that she felt creepy and repeated that comment later that evening after we returned to Ellwood. I can not remember if my brother said that he felt any vibes one way or the other. The real estate agent stated that the previous owner was male and that he died in the house. I was single at the time. Maybe the spirit of the deceased homeowner identified with me, unlocked the door, and made me feel welcome. Of course, all of if this could have been nothing. Maybe the lock on the door was finicky, and I applied just the right touch to to it.
